Nearly 3,000 Vessel and Island Pumpouts Completed during 2022!

Posted on November 17, 2022 Written by jasongarnett Leave a Comment

ENB directed tens of thousands of gallons of sewage from vessel and island waste tanks to sewage treatments plants during 2022.  Our fleet of boats covering the north shore of the Western Long Island Sound were busy all season thanks to the requests from boaters to responsibly dispose of on board waste.  The whole Long Island Sound is designated a No-Discharge Zone, and ENB encourages boaters to do the right thing to protect the environment by answering requests for pumpouts.  Thanks to all those who participated in our program this year, and as we get our hard working boats back in shape for 2023, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our non-profit organization.  ENB must raise 25% of our budget each year to continue operating and providing free pumpouts to boaters along our large service area.  With ENB running each season, you can be sure marine sewage pollution is not the environmental concern it would be without our service.  Thank you for your support!

ENB’s Pumpout Program had a challenging but successful boating season during 2023 with a high number of vessel pumpouts to keep the waters of Long Island Sound cleaner.  It was challenging due to the number of repairs that were needed to keep our boats operational, but thanks to our boat service technicians in Norwalk including […]

Enterococci Study on 7 CT Harbors during the Summer Months of 2023 Sixty-on enterococci bacteria tests were conducted by ENB during the summer months of 2023 to assess harbor health.  The physical data collected at multiple locations in each harbor included dissolved oxygen, water temperature, salinity, and enterococci bacteria levels.  The report compiled includes the […]

Over 2,000 Pumpouts Completed so far this 2023 Boating Season!

ENB has been working throughout the season to keep the Sound cleaner through marine-based sewage preventions.  Our fleet of pumpout boats have already completed over 2,000 vessel waste tank pumpouts, diverting this marine environment degrading effluent from the Sound’s waters to wastewater treatment facilities.  There’s a lot of time left in the boating season, and […]
